The National Youth Theatre is now accepting applications to join its 2009 company.
Acting applicants must be aged between 13 and 21, and should be prepared to take part in a drama workshop and should prepare one speech from any play of their choice, which shows a range of ability and should be no more than two minutes in length. The workshops involve an element of physical movement, so please wear suitable clothing and shoes. We welcome anyone with disabilities, so if you have any sort of access requirements, please let us know so that we can make the appropriate provisions for you.
Technical Applicants must be aged between 16 and 21, and can apply to join 1 of four departments (Wardrobe, Lighting and Sound, Set and Prop Building and Stage Management ). Applicants will be invited to an interview and should, if possible, bring examples of any work e.g. costume or set sketches, lighting plans or prompt scripts etc, although this is not a requirement.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience. We often find that some of our most talented members may not have had any previous opportunities to show their ability prior to joining us.
